## Description
A truly unique treat, a 53-year-old Gran Reserva from the cellar. All maturing takes place in a basement under the cautious eye of a professional. The first vintage for the Faustino label was 1964, and it was an outstanding Rioja vintage. The wine was made with 85% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano, Mazuelo, and viura and aged in barrels for 30 months before being bottled and carefully placed in a quiet dark corner of the cellars to begin its 53-year trip to your glass.

The wine provides a window into another period of winemaking and a different set of standards for what constitutes excellence. It dates back to a time when there were no 100-point scales, when grandeur was associated with light wines rather than hefty ones, when excellent wine was served at a civilized table rather than during pageant-style tastings.

Despite its age, the wine is quite drinkable. It's still light and lively, with plenty of spicy flavors and red fruits. It's difficult to realize this wine is 53 years old. It's a deep, vibrant cherry red. Tobacco, cedar, and leather notes mingle with ripe fruit, jam, and spices in this aromatic and complex blend. With aromas of rich red fruit, licorice, and minerals, as well as silky, ripe tannins, this wine is powerful but velvety.

For every occasion and celebrations to enjoy the night by yourself or with your friends and family, you've come to the right place as we only sell quality, excellence, and more! So come and take this opportunity to buy online Faustino.

From Spain comes Faustino I Tinto Gran Reserva, a classic expression of mature Spanish red wine with a poised personality and a culinary attitude. It presents itself with depth and poise, mixing fruit intensity and a frame that invites slow sipping while the flavours open and develop. The wine sits comfortably in the red wines category, suited for those who enjoy structure and a medium-bodied profile that balances fruit and mature savoury tones.

On the palate the wine shows a composed texture and layered flavours, where ripe berry notes coexist with gentle spice and earthy undertones. The mouthfeel is generous without feeling heavy, offering soft tannins and a harmonious finish that lingers with hints of dried fruit and subtle tertiary aromas. The overall impression is balanced and thoughtful, making the wine versatile at the table.

Appearance and aroma work together to create a welcoming start. The colour is deep and inviting, with a rim that suggests some evolution without losing vibrancy. Aromas tend toward mature red and dark fruit, a touch of spice and leather like nuances that add complexity. These aromatic cues prepare the palate for savoury and slightly rustic flavours.

Part of 1001Spirits' selection, Faustino I Tinto Gran Reserva sits well among wines chosen for relaxed dinners and more formal meals alike. Serve it with food that can match its structure, where meat, roasted poultry or aged cheeses bring out different facets of the wine. Its medium-bodied style makes it adaptable across a range of dishes while still offering character on its own.

### Red wine style & palate

The palate is medium-bodied and measured, showing a rhythm between fruit intensity and savory development. Expect flavours that nod toward ripe cherries and plums with a dry, earthy backbone that gives the wine depth.

Tannins arrive as soft contours rather than aggressive edges, creating a smooth frame that supports the fruit and spice notes. Acidity is balanced to keep the wine lively while allowing the finish to stretch out with gentle warmth.

Texture plays an important role, with a satiny mid-palate that makes the wine feel approachable while still structured. Flavours evolve through the sip, moving from fresh fruit to more complex, slightly tobacco-like and savory impressions.

Overall the style is refined and steady, suitable for those who appreciate layered wines that reveal themselves over the course of a meal. It works well when you want a wine with presence but without overwhelming richness.

### Taste and structure of the wine

Aromas and taste align around a core of mature red fruit, accompanied by subtle spice and a hint of dried herb or leather. These tertiary notes give the wine a contemplative character that pairs well with richer flavours on the plate.

The structure is built on moderate tannins and balanced acidity, creating a neatly framed wine that can complement sauces and umami components. The finish is persistent and textured, leaving behind echoes of fruit, gentle spice and a touch of minerality.

There is a sense of harmony between the aromatic complexity and the palate’s weight, so the wine feels integrated rather than segmented. Each sip nudges forward secondary elements that reward slow tasting and conversation.

Because of this balanced structure the wine can carry both simple and more elaborated dishes, offering refreshing acidity for fatty elements while matching the intensity of grilled or roasted flavours.

### Serving and tasting suggestions

Serve at 18 °C to allow the aromatic spectrum to open and the palate to display both fruit and matured notes. At this temperature the texture is at its most inviting and the balance between tannin and acidity is pleasant.

Choose a glass with moderate bowl size to concentrate the aromas while allowing the wine to breathe. A few minutes in the glass is often enough to let the nose unfold and reveal secondary aromas of spice and dried fruit.

Sip slowly to notice how the wine evolves from the first impression of fresh dark fruit to more savoury and leathery tones on the mid-palate. The finish rewards attention with its layered, slightly spicy tail.

Decanting is optional but brief air exposure can help smooth the tannins and allow tertiary notes to come forward, enhancing the wine’s complexity without changing its fundamental balance.

### Food pairings for Faustino I Tinto Gran Reserva

Hearty beef preparations are natural partners, especially roasted, grilled or braised cuts where caramelised surfaces and rich sauces complement the wine’s fruit and savoury edge. The wine stands up well to both fatty steaks and slow-cooked stews.

Poultry like roast chicken or herb-roasted turkey works nicely, particularly when the dish includes mushrooms or a mildly spiced gravy that matches the wine’s earthy notes. The medium-bodied character provides contrast without overpowering.

Cheese is another strong match, with aged hard cheeses and nutty sheep cheeses highlighting the wine’s dried fruit and spice nuances. Creamy cheeses also offer a pleasant counterpoint to the tannic frame.

Savoury snacks such as charcuterie and marinated olives bring out the wine’s savoury personality, while smoky or cured flavours echo the wine’s more rustic elements. These combinations make the wine a versatile choice for shared plates or a more formal dinner.

### Conclusions on Faustino I Tinto Gran Reserva
